This A-Z Guide is provided to share general information and arena policies while attending events at Gila River Arena. Guests who do not follow these policies or staff directions are subject to ejection from the arena.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating is available on all seating levels of Gila River Arena. Seating locations vary depending upon the event. When ordering accessible tickets, it is important to indicate what type of accessible seat you require, so that we can properly assist you.

To purchase accessible seating:

  • Visit www.ticketmaster.com, select your event, click on the "Request Accessible Seating" icon
  • Call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000, or through the PA Relay Service at 7-1-1, follow the instructions to request your event, press the 9 key for accessible seating.
  • The Gila River Arena Box Office also sells accessible seating. Please visit our ticket information page for hours and more information. For questions/concerns about accessible seating, please contact Guest Services.
  • For accessible seat locations, please view the seating chart on the individual event pages.

Animals

Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited in Gila River Arena with the exception of trained service animals and service animals in training for guests with disabilities. Service animals are welcomed inside the arena but must be on a leash/harness. Service animals will rest in the seating area of the guest with a disability and not in the aisle. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other guests or employees may be asked to escort the animal off the property.

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices are available for guests with hearing disabilities at all Gila River Arena events. To obtain an Assistive Listening Device, please visit our Guest Service location just outside section 115.   • Main Concourse near Section 115
  • Main Concourse near Gate 1 at Section 108
  • Upper Concourse near Sections 205 and 219

Baby Changing Tables

All restrooms are equipped with baby changing tables. In addition, Nursing Mothers Rooms are located at sections 106 and 226.

Baby Bags / Bottles / Formula

Plastic bottles and baby formula are permitted

Bags / Backpacks / Large Bags / Suitcases

  • Backpacks of any size are not permitted
  • Bags larger than 12”x12”x6” are prohibited (i.e. large purses, diaper bags, suitcases, beach bags, laptop bags, etc.)

Gila River Arena does not provide a general area to check bags, coats or any other personal belongings.

Please note that some events may enforce a modified bag policy. Those changes will be communicated through social media accounts and the Gila River Arena website.

Guests who require ADA or medical accommodations, please contact [email protected] so a representative may assist you in advance of your visit.

Banners and Signs

Banners and signs are permitted inside Gila River Arena for Arizona Coyotes games; however, they must be no larger than 24” x 36”, they must be constructed of flame retardant material, may not be obstructive of corporate signage and may not be displayed during play of game due to sightline restrictions. Banners or signs may not be placed on railings, walls or be commercial in nature, obscene or cause a disturbance to other fans. Poles or sticks to display banners or flags are prohibited. Gila River Arena reserves the right to remove any banner or sign without exception. Banner and sign restrictions may vary for non-sporting events.

Guests are welcome to bring their personal binoculars for most events at Gila River Arena.

The Gila River Arena Box Office is located on the North East side of the Arena.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 10am – 5pm.
We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays unless we have an event or on sale.

*The hours are extended on event days.

Closed on major holidays unless an event takes place.

Will Call

Will Call tickets are available for pick up at the box office during regular business hours and at show time on day of event. Tickets may only be picked up by the account holder whose name is on the account. A current valid government issued ID is required for pick up.

Important Information on Mobile Ticketing

Gila River Arena events are moving to mobile only ticketing. New ticket purchases will no longer be emailed, mailed, or available to print at home. Your mobile device is your ticket.

To access your tickets, download the Ticketmaster app and log into your account. Save your tickets to your mobile wallet for easy access. Upon arrival, present the barcode on your mobile tickets for entry. Click here for more detailed information on mobile ticketing.

Cameras

As a general rule, still cameras are permitted at most events. Restrictions on the use of still and video cameras vary by event and are determined by the event producer. Professional photography, video recording of any kind, and/or flash photography is prohibited at all times. This policy will be strictly enforced and management reserves the right to deny any electronic device at their discretion. (No GoPro type cameras, no selfie-sticks.) Guests should contact Gila River Arena Guest Services at 623.772.3240 for event-specific information. (*NHL POLICY: For all Coyotes and NHL games, fans are allowed to bring still cameras into Gila River Arena.

Child Admission

For all sporting events and most concerts, children 2 years of age and younger do not require a ticket to be admitted into Gila River Arena; however, they must sit on an adult's lap and may not occupy a seat. Any child that has celebrated their second birthday will require a ticket to enter the arena and must occupy their ticketed seat only. Please note that some shows (especially those intended for children) will have a different age policy. Please see the specific event page or contact Guest Services for further information.

Disturbances

All guests must maintain reasonable and appropriate behavior at all times. Guests using offensive language or engaging in disorderly conduct may be ejected from the facility and may be subject to arrest. Ejected guests will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way for their loss.

Disturbances include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Standing on chairs
  • Placing children on shoulders
  • Drunk and disorderly conduct
  • Fighting or challenging others to fight
  • "Mooning" or exposing private body parts
  • Interference with or delay of the game/event
  • Violation of Gila River Arena's event policies
  • Violation of the local, state, and federal laws and statues
  • Igniting and display of flames, i.e. lighters / matches, in the facility bowl
  • Attempting to enter the field of play, court, stage or backstage areas without permission
  • Throw, discharge, or launch any liquid substance or objects
  • Willfully and maliciously disturbing another Guest / employee with loud and unreasonable noise
  • Using profanity and/or offensive words, which are likely to provoke a violent reaction from others
  • Taunting or using offensive language against the players, referees, or performers

Designated Drivers

Guests of legal drinking age who hold a valid driver’s license and wish to sign up to be a designated driver, may stop by the Designated Drivers booth during Arizona Coyotes games. In return for safe and sober transportation of their group from Gila River Arena, the designated driver will receive a coupon redeemable for a complimentary soft drink during the game.Guests of legal drinking age who hold a valid driver’s license and wish to sign up to be a designated driver, may stop by the Designated Drivers booth during Pittsburgh Penguins games. In return for safe and sober transportation of their group from PPG Paints Arena, the designated driver will receive a coupon redeemable for a complimentary soft drink during the game.

Door Opening Times

Arena event door times may vary, but generally open one (1) hour prior to show time. For Arizona Coyotes games, gates open one (1) hour prior to game time for the general public. Door times are listed on the event page of the arena website or by calling Guest Services at 623-772-3240.

Dress Code

l guests in attendance are required to wear a shirt and shoes at all times for their own safety. Guests may not wear face paint or masks while on the venue’s property. Gila River Arena management reserves the right to deny entry to guests wearing clothing items displaying offensive text and/or images.

Drones/Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UMAs)

Federal Aviation Administration requires recreational operators to give notice for flights within five miles of an airport to both the airport operator and air traffic control tower, if the airport has a tower. Flights are restricted over Gila River Arena as it is within 5 miles of Glendale Municipal Airport

Elevators/Escalators

Gila River Arena is equipped with elevators that access all public areas of the Arena. Should you require special assistance in reaching your seat, please contact Guest Services in advance or see any Guest Services staff member during the event. Wheeled vehicles, including wheel chairs and baby strollers, are prohibited on escalators.

Emergency Calls

All ticket holders should record their section, row and seat numbers at home and/or the office. It is important for babysitters and family members to have this information and call the arena receptionist at 623-772-3240 should an emergency arise. Messengers may only locate those individuals if given specific seat information.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures

Gila River Arena personnel have been properly trained in emergency evacuation procedures to ensure the safe evacuation of all patrons, including those guests with disabilities, in the case of an emergency. Please pay careful attention to ushers and security personnel for instructions during an evacuation.

Entry Screening

For safety purposes, all guests entering Gila River Arena will be searched and have their belongings scanned. Gila River Arena reserves the right to confiscate items which may cause danger or disruption to the event or other guests, or which are in breach of building policies and/or prohibited items. All guests entering the arena are subject to a metal-detector screening, visual inspection, and bag inspection conducted by Gila River Arena Security personnel. The purpose of the inspection is to detect prohibited items. To increase the efficiency of this important and necessary process, fans are encouraged to keep the following in mind before they arrive at the arena entrance;

  • Arrive early
  • Travel light and minimize the number of personal items
  • Be ready for inspection prior to reaching the security screening by removing personal items from your clothing such as cell phones, keys, cameras, etc.

Guests will be asked to remove all metal belongings or electronics from their pockets before passing through the magnetometer. Gila River Arena reserves the right to subject guests to a secondary hand wand screening and/or visual inspection if deemed necessary.

Any guest who declines to be searched may be denied entry or ejected from Gila River Arena

Family Bathrooms

Family bathrooms are located in the northeast and southwest corners of both the lower and upper concourse levels, as well as on both suite levels.

There is a Universal Changing Table available in the family restroom located on the main concourse near gate 1. The table can accommodate individuals who may be larger than the weight limits of standard baby changing tables but still need accommodations while in the restroom, including individuals with special needs, veterans, elderly or anyone in need of assistance.

First Aid

First Aid facilities are located on the Main Concourse level across from section 106 and on the Upper Concourse level across from section 220. Paramedics are also available throughout the Arena and will respond immediately when assistance is needed. Please ask the nearest Gila River Arena team member for help should you require assistance.

The distribution of promotional items, flyers, or printed materials is not permitted without written permission of Gila River Arena and/or its tenants. The sampling and distribution of products is prohibited.

Food & Beverage

Please visit our Arena Dining Page for information on food and beverage services.

Guests may not bring food and/or beverage items into the arena during events. The only exception is unopened plastic water bottles, one liter or smaller. Glass bottles or metal cans are strictly prohibited. Guests must dispose of the unauthorized items prior to entrance into the arena or return them to their vehicle. Guest Services Centers will not check-in or store any food or beverage items. Guests with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements can email [email protected] to discuss food options available.

Guest Services Centers are located at section 115 and 226 and staffed with Guests Services Representatives who can assist you with questions, concerns and providing assistance to guests with disabilities and or special needs (See Disabled Services). Intoxicated Guests

Gila River Arena reserves the right to deny entry to intoxicated guests. Any intoxicated Guests causing a disturbance during an event will be asked to leave the facility and may be subject to arrest

Lost and Found

Lost and Found may be claimed at the Guest Services Center across from section 115 during an event. During non-event hours, lost and found items can be claimed at Gate 3 Security or via phone at 623-772-3475. Items will be retained for two weeks. After the two-week retention, items may be donated to charity.

Lost Parents/ Found Children

Mobile ticketing reduces the chance of fraudulent tickets, allows for convenient online transfer and re-sale of tickets, and provides a user-friendly platform for the online management of tickets.

 

All PDF tickets, either printed or copied on a mobile phone, will no longer be accepted as a method of entry for events at Gila River Arena. To access tickets, fans will need to download the Ticketmaster app and download their ticket prior to arriving at the venue.

Nursing Mothers Room

-Weapons of any kind (guns/knives/pepper spray), any object that can be used to inflict bodily injury or disrupt the event, chemical dispensing devices, noise making devices, 2-way radios

-Any item that may be deemed potentially harmful

-Backpacks and Oversized Bags (See Bag Policy below for more information)

-Outside food, beverage, glass containers, alcohol, cans, bottles, flasks (Hydroflasks, metal, etc.), coolers or water bottles. 

-Any type of personal computers, and tablets (i.e. iPads, TouchPads, etc.) will not be permitted inside

-Laser pointers, flashlights, handcuffs, fireworks, alcohol, drugs, and/or illegal substances

-Professional photography equipment (detachable/interchangeable lenses), audio/video recording devices, tripods, monopods (selfie sticks), tablets, laptops, computers, promotional materials

-Signs, flags, banners, posters larger than 24”x 36” (may NOT be attached to a pole/stick), strollers, skateboards, skates, stickers, balloons, markers

-Pamphlets or product samples

-Drugs or illegal substances

Pucks

Pucks that go into the seating area during hockey games may be kept by the guest who catches it. Please note that while protective netting is put in place at each end of the rink, pucks may still enter the seating area and can cause serious injury. We remind all guests to stay alert at all times while the puck is in play.

Puck in Play Policy

Please be aware of our Whistle Policy, which requires guests to refrain from accessing their seats until the puck is no longer in play. This policy enables guests to enjoy an unobstructed view of the game.

See Something Say Something

In March 2011, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and AEG announced a new partnership expanding the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) "If You See Something, Say Something™" public awareness campaign to stadiums, arenas, theatres, clubs, convention centers and other venues owned or affiliated with AEG Facilities in an effort to help ensure safety and security of the American public.

The "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign — originally implemented by New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and now licensed to DHS for a nationwide campaign — is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities.

Gila River Arena is proud to participate in this campaign.

Sensory Bags

Sensory bags containing special KCVIP badges, fidget toys, noise cancelling headphones and other resources, are available for checkout (at no cost by leaving an ID) at our Guest Services Booth located at Section 115. 

Sensory Processing Needs

Gila River Arena has partnered with KultureCity to improve our ability to assist and accommodate guests with sensory processing needs. Our objective is to provide an inclusive and seamless experience for all guests for all events including those with sensory processing needs. We are happy to offer the following resources and accommodations below to our guests.

Smoke-Free Environment

Smoking is not permitted in Gila River Arena at any time; however, there are designated smoking areas conveniently located on the Gate 2 and Gate 6 patios of the Main Concourse. E-cigarette use is also not permitted inside Gila River Arena. Users are asked to use the smoking areas on the Gate 2 and Gate 6 patios of the Main Concourse.

Soliciting

Loitering, trespassing, soliciting/peddling of merchandise, apparel and tickets is not allowed on Gila River Arena property. Any exception to this policy must be approved, in advance, by Gila River Arena and the City of Glendale.

Standing Policy

Guests are allowed to stand during an event, provided that they are only occupying the area in front of their ticketed seat. Guests are asked to be considerate of other guests seated around them and their line of sight.

Standing in aisles, and on chairs is strictly prohibited.

Stroller Check

Strollers may be checked at the Guest Services Centers located on the Main Concourse level by Gate 3 and on the Upper Concourse level across from section 226.

Television Monitors

Television monitors are stationed throughout the building. During Arizona Coyotes games radio play-by-play is also broadcast on the concourses and restrooms to ensure that guests never miss a moment of the action.

Temperature

For most events, the temperature is approximately 75 degrees. During ice events, the temperature is approximately 65 degrees and may depend on your proximity to the ice surface. It is strongly suggested to dress in layers for your comfort.

Texting Service

Gila River Arena has teamed with 24/7 Software to provide guests with an in-game/event texting service, allowing guests to text issues to building management anonymously and discretely without having to leave the comfort of their seat.

Guests the letters GRA (space) with the issue and location to 69050. 

Participation in our service is free of charge but standard carrier text messaging & data charges will apply. Text STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to be removed from any list and end subscription to the service.

Ticket Information

The Box Office and Will Call Windows are located on the northeast corner of the Arena near Gate 5. Tickets may be purchased with cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. Advance tickets are available during events at the inside ticket windows located on the northeast corner of Main Concourse. Tickets can also be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000 and 520-321-1000 or at any Ticketmaster outlet.

Ticket Resale

To avoid disputes with counterfeit, stolen or voided tickets, guests should make all ticketing purchases through authorized outlets only. Authorized outlets include the Gila River Arena Box Office and Ticketmaster. Gila River Arena will not be responsible for validating tickets that were not purchased through an authorized outlet.

Gila River Arena does not condone resale of tickets on property.

Tours

Weapons

Guests are prohibited from bringing weapons into the arena. Gila River Arena does not provide weapon lockers and will not check weapons at Guest Services. Weapons include, but are not limited to, the following: firearms, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, brass knuckles, sticks, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, pepper spray, tear gas, knives, etc. Guests found in possession of the above-mentioned items will be asked to remove the item from the arena or dispose of it. Guests who refuse to comply will be ejected from the arena and may be subject to arrest.

Wheelchair Escorts

Gila River Arena Guest Services provides complimentary wheelchair escorts for guests when requested. Wheelchair escorts may be requested at any point of entry by asking one of our Guest Services Representatives or Security Officers. Please be aware that our team members will not remain with you during the event, nor will you be permitted to remain in an Arena wheelchair for the duration of the event. Upon request, our Guest Services Representative will also provide you with an escort after the event is over.

Wheelchair Storage

For guests who wish to transfer to a seat from their wheelchair, we will store your wheelchair at our Guest Services Center. Our team members will make arrangements to return the wheelchair to you at the end of the event, or any other time you would prefer. Electric wheelchair charging service is also available through Guest Services.

Will Call Window

The Will Call Windows are located on the northeast corner of Gila River Arena. The windows will generally remain open through the first hour of the event. Tickets may only be picked up by the account holder whose name is on the account. A current, valid government issued ID and credit card used to purchase tickets are required for pickup.
